Update: New Date Added: Somerset VESP Skills Sessions for 2022

Thank you to those of you who have been in touch to book onto some of the forthcoming sessions.  We have now added a date/session for  "Defining a USP for your business and telling your story" on 25 February.

If you have not booked your sessions yet, then please get in touch soon, especially for the new topics : Understanding Web Analytics and Google My Business - both extremely relevant for all.   All sessions will continue to be delivered online and only take one hour of your time, which we realise is so precious. Feedback from previous sessions has outlined how valuable these short online sessions can help, so don't miss out.

NB. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)  
Date & Time: Wednesday, 9th February.   11.30am - 12.30pm. 
During this one-hour session we will cover:
  • What is SEO and why is it important?
  • Keywords – research and targeting.
  • How to Measure success with Google Analytics and the top six stats you should know
  • How good SEO is the building block for future success with Paid Advertising.

Google My Business                                                                    **NEW FOR 2022**
Date & Time: Thursday, 10th February.  4.30pm - 5.30pm
As a bricks-and mortar business that customers visit, it’s really important to make sure that you have claimed and are maintaining your Google My Business listing.
Google My Business is the management interface that lets a business verify and update, for free, the information that Google displays in its search results – particularly the panel that appears on the right-hand side featuring your business information – and on Google Maps.
Any business that claims its listing can update the description and images, make sure displayed opening times and contact details are correct, showcase its products and services, and respond to customer reviews. Adding new images regularly keeps Google happy and your listing fresh, and it’s worth creating posts within Google My Business too – often you can repurpose what you are already posting on other platforms such as Facebook or Instagram.
Our interactive group workshop on Google My Business takes you through how to claim your listing, how to keep it updated, and how that can positively impact on the way that customers see and find your business.

Date & Time: Tuesday, 15th February.  4.30pm - 5.30pm

Understanding Web Analytics                                                      **NEW FOR 2022**  
Date & Time:  Thursday, 24th February.  11.30am - 12.30pm
During this bite-size, one hour session we will cover:
  • Why measuring website traffic is essential but does NOT require a PhD
  • How to Measure success with Google Analytics and the top six stats you should know
  • How to Measure conversions rather than visitors
  • Using Google Analytics to target future advertising

Defining a USP for your business and telling your story                                                       
Date & Time:  Friday, 25th February.  11.00am - 12noon
Topics will include:
  • What is your story?
  • The importance of your story in differentiation from competitors
  • Telling your story
Creating Content for Online Marketing
Date & Time: Wednesday, 2nd March.  2.00pm - 3.00pm
During this bite-size, one hour session we will cover:
  • what do customers respond to 
  • how to repurpose content for different channels 
  • tips to measure success

Direct Marketing
Date & Time:  Thursday, 10th March.  11.00am - 12noon
Building a direct relationship with your customers can reap rewards in terms of
repeat business, high referral rates and word of mouth marketing.

This session will look at the ways you can market directly to consumers, the
essential tools for the job plus how to stay on the right side of data protection laws.
