The finalists for the 2024 Bristol, Bath, and Somerset Tourism Awards, including entries from Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, have been revealed. These awards celebrate excellence within the tourism sector, and this year’s panel of judges faced a challenging task as they reviewed an impressive array of exceptional entries.
There are 65 finalists however, in some categories, they will remain a surprise until the big night, adding an extra element of excitement to the event. Additionally, two special awards will be unveiled at the ceremony, while eight businesses have already received Commended status in recognition of their efforts.
This award scheme has an Outstanding Accreditation from Trustmark, ensuring a rigorous judging process. Each finalist underwent a thorough evaluation that included an in-depth review of entry forms, online presence, and, in most cases, an on-site visit. All participants, whether winners or not, receive detailed feedback on their entries early next year.
Nell Barrington Awards Director, said, “We were delighted with the number and quality of entrants this year including many small businesses who had entered for the first time. We look forward to celebrating all their achievements on awards night.”
The finalists will have to wait until the prestigious awards ceremony at Batch Country House on 5th December to find out if they have won a Bronze, Silver or Gold award.
Winners from certain categories will then be fast tracked to represent the region in the national VisitEngland Awards in 2025.
Visit Somerset members in the finalists list include The Roman Baths, Wild Wookey, The Cross at Croscombe, Mendip Basecamp, The Loft Cafe Wells, Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, Wells Cathedral, Space Adventures, Riverside Holiday Village, Sandy Glade Holiday Park and Double Tree by Hilton Cadbury House,
