Recent updated Guidelines for cleaning from Government.

Accommodation providers are advised to follow advice for cleaning in non-healthcare settings.

  •
  • If helpful/reassuring for accommodation providers/staff/cleaners who are housing NHS staff:

    • All healthcare workers receive specific advice on the decontamination, hygiene and removal of Personal Protective Equipment, which can be found here.

    • The recently revised PPE guidance also includes information on staff uniform. This guidance states that ‘the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will protect staff uniform from contamination in most circumstances’. The guidance also states that ‘it is best practice to change into and out of uniforms at work and not wear them when travelling; this is based on public perception rather than evidence of an infection risk.’  Further detail can be found here.
