Improvements to Bus Service No 54 Enhance Access to Somerset Attractions

Buses of Somerset is delighted to announce enhancements to Bus Service No 54, effective from 3 June.

In partnership with Yeovil & District Chamber CIC, Somerset Bus Users Partnership, RNAS Yeovilton, The Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Museum, Somerset Council and Wessex RCA, select journeys on this route will now include a stop at Yeovilton Air Base, providing convenient access for both employees and visitors to the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Museum

These improvements will significantly enhance connectivity across the county, facilitating seamless travel from Yeovilton through to Taunton. By incorporating these new stops, the service not only bolsters links between key points of interest but also supports local tourism and community engagement. Families and visitors can now enjoy a more integrated travel experience, making it easier to explore the rich cultural and historical attractions of Somerset.

Additionally, thanks to the government's "Get Around for £2" scheme, passengers can benefit from affordable travel with tickets capped at just £2 each way and £4 return. This initiative ensures that enjoying Somerset's attractions is both economical and accessible, particularly during the summer holidays when families are looking for cost-effective ways to spend quality time together.

These changes reflect a joint commitment to improving punctuality and capacity, ensuring better service for all passengers and supporting the local economy by encouraging more visitors to the region.
