What we are doing for our members:

The website has gone through further developments to ensure we continue to grow and develop possibly the largest digital platform in Somerset.

The website now has - 
 
  • An advanced filtering system on the front of the site to match the members with the needs of the consumer.
  • Advanced Filter systems on all membership landing pages
  • The reduction in content WIGIT to only the landing page of each membership area, increasing visibility of all members 
  • We now have an SEO consultant Developing Google methodology and meta tag information -  the whole site is now seeing an overall 70% swing in traffic - seeing a + 31% increase in Organic Traffic and a   + 211% increase in Direct Traffic   
  • Time on the site pages has increased over the last 2 weeks by 44.50% in further major progress of the site 
  • Finally we are seeing record breaking numbers of new visitors increasing in the last two weeks to 17664 an increase of 28.5%

Social media has the following developments:
  • Face Book followers has smashed through the 10,000 mark at 10,245 followers.
  • Instagram that has pushed through the 6000 followers at 6218  
  • Twitter that has been re configured supporting greater productivity with only 2304 which Visit Somerset follow -still holding onto 32,100 followers.
  • Business Twitter 3083 followers.
  • This whilst we launched, in the last three months, with four members, - 'You Tube' videos, through our own new 'You Tube' channel.  
Our total Social capability now running at 51,428 Followers.   

We are now developing two further phases for the site:
  • An Events Booking system which is now live and already taking bookings for businesses.
  • Secondly Visit Somerset is now in talks to launch for the first time in 5 years a booking system for accommodation that will poll with all major OTA’s and other opportunities to come. 
With more exciting developments now being planned as part of Visit Somerset's sustainability strategy focusing on supporting Visit Somerset and Visit Exmoor’s ambitions of becoming the overriding Directory for Somerset for all aspects of living, working, trading and visiting through connected digital technology.
