The Hinkley Tourism Action Partnership (HTAP) was formed after EDF Energy was given consent to build Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear power station. The legal agreements included one covering tourism and the financial contributions expected from EDF for spending on a strategy devised by HTAP. (Continue reading for links to research results). HTAP was also required to monitor the impacts of the construction of HPC on tourism so it conducted a number of visitors’ surveys. The results available here will help HTAP with visitor management, PR and marketing plans. Surveys of tourism businesses are being carried out too, to monitor the general health of the sector and the latest of these is available here.
