12th October 2016

Categories: News

Dino Day is on Sunday 23 October, from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Families can explore the museum’s amazing collection of real fossils, take a dino trail around the museum and enjoy some dino crafts. The day includes a chance to dress up like a dinosaur, dino disco dancing and storytelling.  It costs £3 per person (£10 for a family ticket) and no booking is required.

Visitor Services Manager, Susie Simmons, said: “Dino Day is one of the biggest events of the museum’s year and is always great fun.  There will be a huge range of activities and a chance to find out about our Somerset dinosaur, Camelotia.”

From 22 to 29 October there will be a dragon trail around the museum (cost £1). On Wednesday 26 October there will be ‘Dragon Fun’ for ages 3 to 12 at a free arts and crafts drop-in. Sessions are from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm and from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm. Storyteller Beth Webb will also be at the museum throughout the day on Friday 28 October with her ‘Dragon Tales.’

Following half term the museum will be open for Halloween on Monday 31 October from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm. Suitable for ages three plus, families can explore the museum in the dark on the spookiest night of the year including activities and crafts. It costs £3 per person (£10 for a family ticket) and no booking required (bring your own torch).

The Museum of Somerset is part of The South West Heritage Trust, an independent charity committed to protecting and celebrating Somerset and Devon’s rich heritage.
