Glastonbury Festival tops iBooks chart

21st June 2014

Categories: News

It may be just a few days away but the programme for Glastonbury Festival is already topping the charts –the UK iBooks chart!

Released last weekend the official 2014 Glastonbury Festival programme is helping to boost the coffers of the event’s three charities – WaterAid, Oxfam and Greenpeace - and has already become one of the top five downloads.

It is yet another first for the Festival as no other publication of its kind has been available in this way before.

Featuring  film of Festival founder Michael Eavis as well as a tribute to the late Tony Benn, this downloadable version of the physical programme is multi-touch and includes videos, podcasts and picture galleries along with a celebration of the event's 44 year history.

Also featured are  exclusive photo galleries, and audio and video content from many of the Festival’s famous ‘Areas’, Theatre And Circus, to the Green Fields.

All festival goers  get a free physical copy of the programme but the iBook allows those who will be watching on TV from home the chance to get involved too and for all to plan in advance what they will be viewing as it includes timings and information on every music act performing.

The digital programme costs £3.99 and is available on iTunes with all proceeds going to WaterAid, Oxfam and Greenpeace.

Gates open for this year’s Festival on Wednesday June 25.
