Festivals and Events

Bath has a huge range of festivals and events that stretch year-round. Here is a selection for 2021, we advise checking directly with the individual websites for latest information before making travel plans.

Bath Comedy Festival starts again Fri 28th May and takes place fortnightly throughout most of the year.

·       Bath Comedy’s “Permission To Laugh” Festival is Fri 16th July – Sat 31st July 2021 and will be two weeks of comedy including many shows which were postponed from last year’s Bath Comedy Festival, featuring many famous faces alongside the stars of tomorrow.

Widcombe Social Club opens up with the return of the popular “Friday Night Social” – open to all every Friday from 5.30pm, there will be free live music in the bar from 6-8pm and a ticketed show upstairs – Bath Comedy Club, top quality jazz and folk music from All Of The Above, and Film Nights.

·       June sees the launch of a new pre-show food menu, which will offer affordable quality dishes. Their popular DJ nights, including “Transmission”, “Frug” and “Electric Dreams” will also return on Saturday nights.

Bath Fringe is a celebration of the return and re-opening of live culture - the offscreen and real-life kind - and the gradual relaxation of lockdowns.

What would be their regular dates around the summer half-term (May 28 - June 13) will see a series of indoor shows in classic Bath venues and pop-ups, including Theatre, Live Music, Comedy, Visual Arts, all set up to function and be enjoyed under the distancing regime for events that they expect to see by then (something like last autumn’s). Over the first few weeks after that, as re-opening proceeds, they will also run some outdoor events, including their annual Bedlam Fair street event, and support the re-opening of the independent Bath venues they generally work with. There will also be a few self-promoted events from visiting and local artists.
