Camerton is a hamlet situated just 15 minutes from Bath, lying on the Cam Brook set in the heart of the Cam Valley. Built around the former branch line from the Bristol and North Somerset Railway which was used mainly to transport coal. The line's services were suspended in 1915, resumed in 1923 and finally withdrawn in 1925. The film Titfield Thunderbolt was filmed shortly after the railway line shut.

The surrounding areas of Camerton in Somerset have so much to offer and within a short drive there are many varied attractions. These include the Roman city of Bath, with its wonderful restaurants and bars, fabulous shopping and street entertainers, historic Roman baths and Georgian Architecture. The ancient town of Glastonbury, which attracts so many thousands of visitors each year to the Glastonbury music festival and Longleat House and Safari Park owned by Lord Bath, one of the countries leading wildlife Parks. All of which makes Purbeck Holiday Lets the perfect base for exploring and enjoying the many varied local attractions available.
