Ideas to inspire you during your visit
A peaceful idyll in the middle of the beautiful North Somerset countryside. The skies are blue, the grass is lush and green and our welcoming town is inviting you to explore. There’s no bigger playground than the great outdoors and Nailsea has got countryside walks and playing fields a-plenty. There’s even a secret arts trail if sculptures are more your thing. A thirst for adventure? Bring your bike and explore our countryside trails or try out daredevil tricks at our popular skate park. And with incredible attractions like National Trust’s Tyntesfield House, Cadbury Camp and Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm on our doorstep, fun family days out are covered too. If you prefer a shopping trip and a coffee, then the High Street and town centre has plenty to offer from independent business to more familiar high street brands, and even a monthly farmers market for picking up local produce. With plenty of things to keep you entertained make Nailsea your next go to destination for a day out or a weekend break.
Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is a conservation charity and the largest zoo in Somerset with over 100 species of animals. The multi award winning Zoo is open 7 days a week and aims to make Noah's Ark a place of joy, wonder, adventure and refreshment that supports the well-being of all visitors, staff and volunteers. Through education and fun, they aim to inspire and motivate this generation and the next to consider sustainable lifestyles and care for our planet.
At its heart Tyntesfield is a Victorian country house and estate, which serves as a backdrop to the remarkable story of four generations of the Gibbs family. Their tale charts the accumulation of wealth from the guano trade, transformation of a Georgian house to a Victorian Gothic masterpiece and the collection of over 70,000 objects.
Nailsea Footpath GroupFormed over 40 years ago to encourage people to explore and enjoy the countryside that Nailsea has to offer, Nailsea Footpath Group takes part in a variety of walks of differing distances and difficulty. The walks take place during the weekdays and weekends, and consist of shorter walks in and around Nailsea, as well as longer walks through the Mendips and in Devon.
