The site is funded and supported by Somerset County Council, North Somerset Council, Mendip District Council, South Somerset District Council, Taunton Deane Borough Council and Sedgemoor District Council. West Somerset Council also provide support.

Originally, the website formed part of a wider Visit Somerset Project that ran for three years and was part funded by the partners highlighted above and by the South West Regional Development Agency. The Project's principal aim was to assist Somerset tourism businesses in maximising the potential of the internet and related ICT technologies. This included running seminars and carrying out 1-2-1 visits using internet specialists to help improve their online presence.
