Tap into the customer mindset in 2010...
With a'Premium' entry on the website in 2010 you can benefit from our new Special Offers Section. Find out more...

When buying almost anything online these days most of us are attracted to the chance of a great deal, whether it might be a discount, sale or special offer. Indeed, many actively use the internet to seek out the best deals.
Participants in our 2009 focus group research told us that they expected to see special offers on the website as standard.
Our web stats show that the current special offers page has become one of our top ten pages with thousands of visits a month.
(1) An additional listing promoting your special offer in our dedicated section, as well as in your main listing, will help you stand out from the crowd.
(2) Catch the attention of thousands of visitors on the look out for special offers.
(3) Fill space or boost numbers perhaps during those traditional quieter periods
(4) Additional promotion including via regular e-newsletters to our database of nearly 15,000 people.
(5) Increase awareness of your business and develop new loyal customers.
Offers will be promoted on Visit Somerset throughout 2010.
To keep visitors interested and to tie in with changes that you might make to your normal rates during the year we will look to theme offers accordingly.
For instance these might include Autumn Break Offers, Easter Special Offers, 2 for 1 Offers or Valentine's Deals.
In each case you will be approached by email well in advance of us promoting offers, to provide us with your 'genuine offer' in no more than 30 words.
Your offers will then be modified (where needed) to ensure maximum potential for you and promoted from the home page, in your listing, special offers section, through e-newsletters and more...
The first time we will approach you will be in December for your Winter Warmer Special Offers to run from January to early March 2010.
This might seem a strange question, but it is vital!
Special offers should make people feel good. An offer that is not perceived to be any good could work against you.
Remember offers can be used to attract new customers who can be developed into loyal repeat visitors and advocates of your business. It is not just about boosting numbers during quieter times.
Offers should provide visitors with 'real genuine savings' or 'percieved added value'. Here are just a few examples:

*** On most offers it is important to show your normal rate/price for the time of year, so that visitors can clearly see the benefits.
Take a look around at what the competiton are doing. We at Visit Somerset do this regularly, and are amazed at how inventive some destinations and businesses are getting.
