Somerset Branding
The Somerset Brand!
The idea that Somerset is 'somewhere you pass through to get to Devon or Cornwall' was challenged in 2006/07 with the 'Somerset brand', developed following extensive market research with a wide variety of stakeholders and visitors.
The research established how visitors perceive Somerset, and gave indications as to how best use this information to promote the county in the following years. The look, feel and images used all reflect the results of the research carried out.
The branding has been used on all promotional literature and on the Visit Somerset website during this time. To launch the brand and promote Somerset a number of promotional campaigns were run in 2007/08.
National advertising focused on strong imagery and simple but effective messages, all with the Somerset logo and strap line. The aim was to spread the word and unlock some of the county's secrets.
