The Bristol Hippodrome
The Bristol Hippodrome is one of the country's top, family-friendly provincial theatres, which proudly continues to stage major West End and Broadway productions.
Somerset’s fabulous landscape has inspired some of our most famous artists over the centuries including JMW Turner. It continues to attract professional artists to live and work here and has a range of Arts venues. What is new is the spotlight that has been turned on our contemporary art with the arrival of the world-class gallery Hauser and Wirth at Bruton, and visit by Banksy to Weston-super-Mare. Whether it is in the prestigious setting of Bath, a World Heritage site; in the grounds of a school or in shipping containers on Watchet quay - there is no doubt we have the quality and variety of art to suit all tastes. As well as established Arts venues, there are a number of arts bodies that organise temporary exhibitions and performances in our towns and villages. We also revel in the festivals we hold for literature, opera, music and visual art. One of the biggest is Somerset Arts Week organised annually in the Autumn by Somerset Art Works showcasing artists work across the County.
Wookey Hole Caves is a magical place of caves, legends, and adventure for all ages. It’s an experience millions of years in the making with plenty to do inside and out. Enjoy vintage penny arcades, museums, adventure golf, and soft play zones, and of course the famous, beautiful caves.
The Jane Austen Centre is in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath, between the architectural attractions of Queen Square and the Circus, and just a short stroll from Bath Abbey, the Assembly Rooms and the Roman Baths. Come and meet their costumed ‘character’ guides, and enjoy being shown Bath’s fascinating history and its associations with Jane Austen and her family.
Welcome to Cedars HallCedars Hall is a state-of-the-art performance venue providing a varied programme of top quality entertainment all year round. It is situated in the beautiful grounds of Wells Cathedral School in the heart of the City of Wells.
Bath Theatrical Costume Hire, a family business established in 1969 moved from our quirky little shop in Bath to our warehouse in Frome in 2001, housing more than 30,000 costumes. We work with hundreds of companies, casts, actors, and partygoers to ensure they have the best costumes for their event.
Opened in 1900, the Victoria Art Gallery boasts an outstanding collection of paintings, sculptures and decorative arts. The gallery is located in the centre of Bath, near the famous Pulteney Bridge. Entry to the permanent exhibitions is free.
The Cheese and Grain is a not-for-profit, member owned social enterprise and also a registered charity. Its main aim is to promote and boost Frome’s social, cultural and economic life.
Leading the way in this zeitgeist for Weston-super-Mare the Blakehay Theatre create Theatre for the whole community, bringing national popular shows and treading subject matters onto the stage. A creative hub for artists and performers in the local area and a cultural home for fans of the arts.
