Bridgwater is a lively town with a rich history, its famous carnival best symbolises the spirit of the town, hailed as the largest illuminated procession in the world, the event takes place each November and lights up the town with music and colour.
Much of Bridgwater's history can be discovered at the Blake Museum and examples of fine architecture reflecting its past as a port and commercial centre can be found in Castle Street, King Square and Cornhill.
Today Bridgwater has a variety of places to visit and a fine range of pubs and restaurants.
