Bossington Hill, which rises up from the Vale of Porlock on the one side and North hill, which similarly rises up from Minehead on the other, offers dramatic coastal views across the Bristol Channel to Wales and along Exmoor's coastline.
The hills, which are part of the National Trust's Holnicote Estate are one of the best places in the area to catch sight of the famous Exmoor Ponies or hear the crack of rutting Red Deer stags in the Autumn.
There are also lots of great walking opportunities too, with paths and bridleways criss-crossing all over the area including the longest National Trail in Britain - The South West Coast Path - which begins in Minehead and carries on to Dorset over 630 miles!
If this is a bit too far then why not choose to walk down to Hurlstone Point, or to one of the many picturesque villages for a cream tea, such as Selworthy, Bossington or Allerford. Alternatively just take a stroll to soak up the magnificent views.
One of the best times (and most popular!) is at sunset. Head straight to the car park at the far end of the road and watch the sun drop into the ocean!
