Travelling To Taunton & Taunton Car Parks
Taunton may lie in the heart of the West Country but that doesn’t mean it is remote, or difficult to get to.
If you’re travelling by car you should allow approximately two and a half hours from London, two hours from Birmingham and an hour from Cardiff for example.
When arriving by car why not use either of the two park and ride facilities? These frequent shuttle services run to and from the town centre or alternatively you can locate one of our town centre car parks by clicking here

Rail travel is approximately two hours from London Paddington and the same from Birmingham New Street. Further locations and details can be obtained from the National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950. If you’re planning a cycling holiday book your bike on the train in advance to ensure it arrives with you.
Ferry terminals at Portsmouth and Southampton are approximately two and a half hours away and those at Poole and Plymouth roughly one and half hours.
Travelling by air? Regional airports are situated at Exeter and Bristol. Coach services are available to and from Taunton for the regional airports and additionally Birmingham, Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted Airports which can be booked through our Visitor Centres in Taunton or Wellington.
Air passengers coming by rail should travel from Gatwick to Reading and change to an Exeter/Plymouth/Penzance service; from Heathrow take the coach link to Reading station.
Daily coach services including Berry's, Falcon, Megabus and National Express coaches run between Taunton and many major airports, towns and cities throughout the UK. These services can also be booked through the Taunton Visitor Centre
