Wedmore
Wedmore is a prosperous and thriving village, with a wide range of specialist shops, restaurants and coffee shops. It is the principal village on the Isle of Wedmore, a ridge of land rising out of the Somerset Levels.
Wedmore is steeped in history and has been a settlement since early times. In the Saxon era, Wedmore belonged to the Kings of Wessex and in 878 AD Alfred the Great made peace with the Danes here.
Today, a range of interesting architectural styles adds to the charm of the village.
