Mid-Somerset Show

The Mid-Somerset Show has experienced a significant revival in recent years. A traditional agricultural show held in Shepton Mallet on the third Sunday in August each year introduced a policy of free entry to pedisrtians for its 150th year in 2002. Attendance has increased fourfold, entries for all the competitions has increased considerably and 2006 saw a return of pigs and a companion dog show. The show has received considerable sponsorship support from local businesses, particularly J H Haskins Ltd, Framptons Ltd and Framptons Food Ltd.

The trade stands offer a wide selection of locally produced food, arts and crafts and clothing as well as a range of household goods. Agriculture has not been forgotten as you can buy a tractor, quad bikes and other agricultural equipment.

Whether you have an interest in torses, farm livestock, children's pets such as rabbits or guinea-pigs or just want to be entertained by terrier or ferret racing, gundog demonstrationsor birds of prey there is plenty for the whole family at the Mid-Somerset Show which is commonly referred to as Shepton Show.
