Give the car a rest for a day !

Here are seven fun days out, designed to help you relax and enjoy Somerset without the car. For those people who travelled to Somerset by public transport, you may want to try some of these as well!

(From Taunton to the Willows and Wetland Centre, exploring lovely villages and a walk up Burrow Mump, with some stunning panoramic views across the Somerset Levels and Moors)

(Step back in time and explore the history & heritage of Frome, Bruton and Castle Cary, cobbled streets, ancient churches, exclusive shops and some unusual architecture)

SeasideSeaside Fun
(Enjoy the traditional family resorts of Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea - donkey rides, rock-pooling, family attractions and fish & chips!)

CiderScrumptious Somerset
(Take a bus from Taunton to Langport and then cycle the Somerset Levels and Moors, visiting an abbey, a pottery and sampling cider and smoked eels along the way !)

DunsterA day out in Dunster
(Take a short bus ride from Minehead to the medieval village of Dunster. Take a walk to the iron age settlement of Bats Castle or get some sea air and walk back along the beach !)

(exploring the film locations and legends of Glastonbury & Wells)

CountrysideCountryside, history and coast
(Starting from Taunton, amble through the Somerset countryside by steam on the West Somerset Railway, visiting Washford, Watchet and Minehead)
