The scenery is stunning in this beautiful hidden valley, at the very centre of Exmoor National Park. Westermill Cottages nestle in grass paddocks surrounded by trees with lovely views across the valley. It is a joy to return to their peace and tranquillity.
The six cottages are well equipped, warm and cosy with charming and colourful interiors. Built in Scandinavian style and lined with wood, as well as having convector heaters they have the additional comfort of welcoming log fires. Barbecues are provided as well as electric cookers and microwaves. Some cottages are equipped for the disabled with en suite downstairs bedrooms.
Children and dogs are welcome.
An information centre has been created to explain the area and advise visitors places of interest. Also available at the farmhouse there is a public telephone, washing machine and spin dryer/tumble dryer.
Westermill is a 500-acre real, working hill farm with sheep, Aberdeen Angus cattle, horses and pigs in fields. Chicken wander about the farmyard. It is fascinating to explore the farm on the four circular, way marked walks beside the sparkling River Exe. The walks lead along valley fields to moorland with dramatic views from the hilltops.
Westermill has a Gold David Bellamy Award for Conservation and is a haven for many birds and wild flowers. There is fishing in over two miles of river and bathing or paddling in pools.

Road Directions
M5 Jcn 25 A358 towards Minehead. 4 miles beyond Taunton turn left on the B3224. Leave Exford on Porlock road. After ¼ mile fork left, continue 2 miles along valley until Westermill seen on tree. Fork left.
Public Transport Directions
From Taunton Railway Station - 30 miles. Buses from Taunton to Minehead and then to Exford.
