The Garden Retreat is a self-contained apartment, which is an annex connected to Green End, a 1930’s house set in a large mature garden with a stream running through it. The newly modernised facilities include 2 double bedrooms (1 with twin beds) and a separate bathroom. The large, lounge has a TV and modern electric fireplace. It has a dining area within it. There is a separate fitted kitchen equipped with microwave oven, full size double oven, fridge-freezer and washer-drier. There is full central heating and an unrestricted supply of hot water. Good car parking facilities are available.

We are situated in the foothills of The Quantocks and a few minutes walk from Hestercombe Gardens, which we overlook. We are only 3 miles from Taunton town centre and within 15 minutes of the M5. We are also perfectly situated for exploring other areas such as Exmoor and Sedgemoor; or the cities of Bath, Bristol and Exeter are all within easy travelling distance.

The quiet hamlet of Rowford consists of a few houses, village hall and village school. A short pleasant walk away is Cheddon Fitzpaine village itself that has the church and village street. A few minutes drive away or a 20-minute walk are Cheddon Road or Priorswood which have the usual local amenities such as Post Office and library (at Priorswood), shops and newsagent. Wellsprings Leisure Centre is close by on Cheddon Road. There are also supermarkets on the outskirts of Taunton.
