One Fair Place is a wisteria-clad golden hamstone cottage in a very picturesque village. Its name is derived from the Chiselborough Fair, one of the ancient Somerset Fairs, which used to be held on the village and surrounding area. The cottage is fully equipped and is an ideal base from which to explore the Somerset countryside.

The living room has a long burning stove and there is a colour television, video recorder and CD player. There are also numerous books, maps and information on the local area. Logs are provided for winter visitors although the cottage is also centrally heated.

The country kitchen is newly equipped with a modern electric hob and oven, microwave, a fridge/freezer and washing machine and overlooks the pretty cottage garden. Both bedrooms upstairs are attractively furnished, have fitted carpets and enjoy lovely views. The spacious main bedroom has a four poster bed, whilst the second bedroom has two single beds, all with duvets. The modern upstairs bedroom also has an electric shower, heated towel rail and a shaver point. Bed linen is provided and towels are available by request.

Outside the cottage garden is a peaceful haven with a small lawn shaded by the apple tree, deep herbaceous borders and a tiny patio at the top of the garden. There is a private parking space at the front of the cottage.
The village of Chiselborough is picturesque and peaceful. Set away from main roads among undulating countryside this area is an ideal holiday destination. The village was mentioned in the Domesday book and has a beautiful Church of St Peter and St Paul with an elegant octagonal spire, which can be traced back to Norman times. The village has numerous traditional cottages built in the local golden Hamstone.

The Cat Head Inn, in the village, provides excellent food and is a focal point for the local community. There are also many footpaths leading into the neighbouring villages and local vantage points. Ham Hill, near to the stately home of Montacute, can be reached by foot. This hill is the source of the honey coloured stone from which the cottage is built. At the top of Ham Hill is a large Iron Age and Roman hill fort, which uniquely has an inn, the Prince of Wales, within it.

The cottage is also close to many National Trust properties, cider mills, and the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton and Sparkford motor museum. The Dorset coast is only 19 miles away and Lyme Regis, famous for its fossils, can be reached in thirty minutes by car.
