Cary Fitzpaine is a Georgian Manor Farmhouse set in two acres of beautiful gardens on a 600-acre mixed farm of Arable, Beef Cattle, Sheep and Horses, plus various pets. The house is the main house in a tiny hamlet comprising of 6 cottages and a post box. Life is recorded here in the Doomsday Book and it is very peaceful and tranquil.

Cary Fitzpaine is approximately 4 miles from Somerton and 8 miles from Yeovil. We are only 1.5 miles from the A303 and 0.5 mile from A37. It is an excellent base for viewing National Trust properties with Lytes Cary, Barrington Court, Tintinhull, Stourhead and Montacute within easy reach. Plus many other private houses and gardens open to the public nearby, the Fleet Arm Museum at Yeovilton is 5 minutes away and the Haynes Car museum 10 minutes away. Wells, Glastonbury, Wookey Hole, Cheddar, Bath and West Showground, Longleat, Cricket St Thomas and Clarks Village at Street are all in easy reach. Bath, Taunton and Bristol are all less than an hour away. In fact there is something to please everyone in the area.

You will receive a warm and friendly welcome on arrival, our intention is for you to feel at home and comfortable during your stay with us. All our rooms are furnished and decorated to a very high standard and have en-suite or private facilities complete with an excellent selection of toiletries and towels. All rooms also have TV/radio and coffee making facilities. We have a large four-poster bedroom/suite available. There is also a large Drawing Room for guests to relax in and plenty of garden furniture for idling in the sunshine.

A full breakfast is provided in the large dining room overlooking the gardens. We use either home produced or local products wherever possible. A selection of lighter foods and fruits are also served.

We are very happy for guests to stroll around the farm, there is a river running through with plenty of wildlife to see. We have on the farm kingfisher, herons, various ducks, owls, woodpeckers plus numerous other birds, deer, badgers, rabbits and hare etc.

We are available to help and advise guests on any sites or activities they are interested in. We have golf available nearby at Wheathill and Yeovil, Riding in Charlton Adam or Sherborne. Own horses may be accommodated.

We have a list of recommended places to eat in the area and are pleased to make bookings if required.
