Bank House Café is located in an outstanding Georgian house, with a walled "secret garden", in Axbridge - one of the prettiest small towns in Somerset. One reviewer declared: "This was a lunch that made me grin from ear to ear. Proper food - cooked with integrity by people
who care."
The Sunday Times said, "home cooking doesn't come more homely than this." And another writer compared Bank House to "a superb but relaxed French or Italian country restaurant, sitting in the shadow of the church in a corner of the town's marvellous medieval square."
Most of the food is organic and locally sourced, with Mediterranean influences. As well good quality local fruit juices, beers and ciders there is a much-praised list of English and European wines. Most drinks can be bought at retail prices in the attached wine shop.
Bank House Cafe is ideal for relaxed informal meals or special occasions.
Signature Dishes include:
- Warm Salad of Whisky-Smoked Pigeon Breast with Pickled Raspberries.
- Tagine of Axbridge Lamb and Saffron, with Moroccan Flat Bread, Cous Cous and Leaves.
-Apple, Cinnamon and Quince Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream.
