Weston-super-Mare

The area between Royal Sands and the Grand Pier is a dog free area from 1 May until 30 September, dogs are welcome in this area from 1 October until 30 April.

Dogs are welcome all year round in the area between the Grand Pier and Knightstone Island and from Royal Sands to Uphill. The beach at Marine Lake is a dog free area all year round.

Sand Bay

Dogs allowed all year round - no restrictions.

Clevedon

Restrictions apply 1 May until 30 September, no restrictions at other times.

Porlock

Porlock Shingle Ridge has no restrictions (except from the high tides !)

Minehead

The only beach in this area that has a restriction on dogs is the main Minehead beach from 1st May to 30th September each year. No other beach in the West Somerset area has any such restriction.

Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow and Brean

Dogs are permitted at all times of the year on Berrow and Brean beaches. With regard to the beach at Burnham-on-Sea, from 1 May until 30 September dogs are not allowed on the one mile length of beach adjacent to the sea wall. From 1 October until 30 April the dog ban area is much shorter, being the length of beach between the jetty and the pavilion.
