Description

The Old Ship Aground, built in 1911 and formally known as The Pier Hotel.

The Old Ship Aground

Is an historic listed Edwardian pub located on the harbour in Minehead. With some of the best views in Minehead across the harbour to the Quantocks and Wales, the location is idyllic.

We fell in love with her and bought back in May 2013. Since then we sorted the old girl out and refitted almost everything from top to bottom. Now with 12 new bedrooms offering a variety of single, double, twin and super king sizes there is a room for everyone, with all the little extras you’d expect – flat screen tv’s, tea, coffee & biscuits, bathroom sets and free wifi etc.

We offer great old fashioned hospitality, and doing a good job of it, is very important to us. You don’t have to just take our word for it, please check out our reviews, both on Google and Trip Adviser.

Food is a very big part of what we do, and here at The Old Ship Aground we love to cook and are proud of our reputation. Our menu is very much ‘River Cottage’ style. If we cannot grow it or raise it on the farm, you can be sure it is locally sourced and the very best of quality. From home-smoked foods (we have our very own smoker) to our own baked soda bread you won’t go hungry.

With a pedigree of over 100 years of hospitality you are assured of a truly classic English Inn experience, with all the trimmings!
