The Roman Baths will stay open late over the Easter weekend, giving visitors a chance to see the Great Bath illuminated by flickering torchlight.
From Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April, the historic site will extend its opening hours until 8pm, with last admission at 7pm, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the special atmosphere around the torchlit Great Bath. A pop-up bar will serve chilled Champagne, prosecco, and soft drinks, as well as indulgent hot chocolates, every day from 12 noon to 7.30pm.
History enthusiasts can take advantage of the extended opening hours to explore the fascinating Roman Baths museum at a relaxed pace. The museum collections chronicle the history of the Roman Baths and the people who lived and worked in Aquae Sulis – the city we now know as Bath.
Families visiting for the Easter holidays can pick up a free spotting trail and explore the Roman Baths with the help of some friendly Roman characters. There are two versions of the trail, tailored for younger and older children. There’s also a new Roman Baths activity book for children (£5), which explains the history of the Roman Baths in an easy to understand way for children aged seven to 11.
The magnificent Pump Room restaurant will stay open for Easter evening dining throughout the long weekend. Enjoy a seasonal three-course Easter menu under the gorgeous Pump Room chandelier, accompanied by the talented sounds of the resident pianist. £50 per person for three courses.
