While the joey was born approximately six months ago, they weigh less than a gram at birth, so the new arrival has only just begun showing their face and peeking out of mum’s pouch which keeper Rachael Hall captured on camera. 
 
The joey hasn’t yet been sexed so doesn’t have a name, but both mum Lara and little one are doing well.
 
This is Lara’s third joey, so she has been taking it in her stride. Keepers are delighted to have a new addition this spring to the current nine-strong group.
