Exmoor National Park

Exmoor National Park is a unique and special place.

First time visitors are always surprised at the undisturbed tranquillity of its heather-clad moorlands, not to mention its breath-taking coastline of plunging cliffs and sheltered bays.

Exmoor National Park is rich in hidden haunts, deep valleys, ancient oak woodland, England's highest sea-cliffs, sparkling rivers and waterfalls.

Its land and seascapes are dotted with medieval towns and villages, harbours and resorts full of character and timeless charm.

As a National Park with special protection, Exmoor offers natural beauty of the highest order and a wealth of wildlife, including the Exmoor Pony, wild red deer and bats in abundance.

If all that were not enough, it adjoins the picturesque Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The stunning views are not restricted to daylight hours as Exmoor was Europe’s first designated Dark Skies Reserve with its fresh, clean and uncluttered heavens a perfect canvass for the stars.

This remarkable landscape makes Exmoor National Park a natural choice for all kinds of holidays and short breaks.

You can enjoy quiet days by the sea or choose adventure in the form of coasteering.

You can explore the moors or dip into the local history.

You can stay in a village, on a farm, or at a resort.

You can follow walking trails, take a bicycle ride, go horse riding, do some fishing or try a safari.

Exmoor National Park is the ideal place to escape from a busier pace of life, being close to the M5, major airports and train services at Exeter, Bristol & Taunton, and within a few hours’ drive from London or Birmingham.
