Job Description:
We are looking to recruit an experienced Supervisor to support our senior management team in the smooth day-to-day running of the catering department.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a diverse hospitality setting within a visitor attraction.
This is a key role within the catering team, where you will need to take responsibility for supervising and leading the team within the food barn and across the site at our catering outlets.  You will be required to motivate the team, delegate tasks and be able to work as part of a team and lone work.
You will need to work in a constantly changing environment and have a passion for food, drink, and customer service.
There is also the opportunity to progress in the role / within the business for the right candidate.

Skills and Experience:
  1. 3 years plus experience in a supervisory role within a catering setting.
  2. Supportive team player.
  3. Ability to cook to volume.
  4. Level 2 Food Hygiene (preferred).
  5. Calm under pressure.
  6. Be adaptable, flexible, and reliable.
  7. Barista trained.
  8. Computer skills: Word & Excel.
  9. Driving licence.
  10. Good understanding of the Allergens Laws.
 
Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting with the daily management of the day-to-day running of the catering team.
To work alongside the Assistant Catering Manager and Senior Supervisors to ensure the smooth, efficient running of the business.

Delegating tasks ensuring high standards of customer service are met at all times.
To cook to volume in some of our catering outlets, i.e., burgers, chips, hot dogs, panini’s etc.
To support the kitchen if needed.

Take customer orders, payments, managing the tills.
Making hot drinks, running food and pot wash.

Due to the nature of the business, no two days are the same, you will need to be adaptable and motivated.
Communication is key across the whole site.  You must be able to communicate with the Assistant Catering Manager, Head Chef and/or Senior Supervisors either verbally using radios or phone, or by email or diary recording ensuring that staff, food, drinks, supplies, monies, and security are well managed.

Be highly organised using your initiative to help solve and record problems, utilise timings effectively – monitoring customer demand, staff training, dealing with any complaints, plus ordering and wastage.
To follow food safety regulations when using all equipment.  To keep work surfaces, counters, fridges, and freezers clean, tidy, and rotated.

Complete orders with suppliers, highlighting any issues to the Assistant Catering Manager or Senior Supervisors.

To ensure that all cash and recordings are delivered to the Duty Manager at the end of shift and to assist with closing checks and securing the food barn overnight, making sure it is left ready for service the following day.
