Become a Volunteer Marshall for the Tour of Britain

Volunteers are a vital resource for the sport and key to ensuring the event runs smoothly - over 100 volunteers are needed for each stage of an event like the Tour of Britain.

As a marshal you would make sure the riders have a clear route and that enthusiastic spectators don't accidentally get in their way by:
- Managing crossing points;
- Making sure cars don't try to use closed roads;
- Giving spectators information when asked.

Sign up now!
- Visit the 'volunteer' section of www.tourofbritain.co.uk;
- Register your name and contact details;
- Select Stage 2 - Yeovilton to Taunton (Tuesday 11 September);
- The Tour of Britain in association with British Cycling will send you an information pack.

Registration closes on Thursday 30 August 2007.

Marshals must be over 18 years of age; however, if you are under 18 there may be other ways you can get involved - for further information, contact your learning provider or parish council.
